Same day appointments may be available, clinic is open to all residents of Port McNeill and surrounding areas. Please call the clinic to book same-day or next day appointments. Some providers are accepting new patients; call to confirm.
We provide Team Based Care – including Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Medical Office Assistants. We extend our services beyond direct patient care by facilitating Care Coordination, ensuring seamless integration with other local and island-wide healthcare providers and specialties.
You can visit this clinic for same-day care if you have a health concern that should be seen within 12 to 24 hours. For life-threatening emergencies, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Your family doctor or nurse practitioner knows your health-care needs best and may be able to offer you an appointment. If you can’t see them, we’re here to help.
The Port McNeill Primary Care Centre / A’ekakila’as is a full service family practice with onsite physicians, a registered nurse and social worker, as well as access to midwifery and specialist physicians (including women’s health specialists).
How to Get Care at This Clinic
By appointment: Call 250-956-6830 when the clinic opens to book. A nurse or team member may ask you a few questions to match you with the right care. Open Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

- Coughs, colds, sore throat
- Ear infections
- Urinary tract infections (also available through pharmacy)
- Allergic reactions or asthma (if you have trouble breathing, call 911)
- Skin conditions (rashes, skin irritation, minor wounds or itchy spots)
- Stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation
- Minor illnesses, fevers or infections in children
- Infections or abscesses
- Mental health concerns such as low mood, anxiety and depression

- Stitches for cuts
- Suture removal
